Website owners should always have a page describing who they are or what they do as the most easily-accessible part of the site. On a computer website, there is more flexibility since navigation can be used in conjunction with content. This is much less practical, and in most cases unusable, on the mobile platforms.
The When I'm Mobile websites have the summary page as the topmost link on the opening screen. In the music example, the "About the Band" information resides here. Other industries can utilize this area for whatever they want the audience to be first and foremost aware of about their business.
